The album went on sale on line on the 1st August 2008 and has already far exceeded expectations mainly due to the brilliant talents of local Warrington based up and coming lead guitarist Sam Barnett, Sam who lives on the Calland’s estate in Warrington was originally asked by Elias.T.Hoth the bands lead singer song writer and front man to come down for an audition to under take professional session work on the new album in January of this year at the time Sam was just 17 year old.
It’s a rather strange and surreal story really say Elias, I met an old college colleague John Hoyles who incredibly turned out to be Sam’s Uncle and by chance mentioned to John that I was actually doing an original album, also the fact that I had recently lost my lead guitarist, asking John did he know any potential candidates who might fit the bill and be interested the job. John said he did and highly recommended young Sam!
Within a few weeks Sam had contact me, I asked Sam to come down to my studio we I worked through one of the last and final track to go on the album called “Hex On You” by the end of session Sam had got the job he was just amazing. I just could not believe what quality depth and brilliant raw lead talent Sam had and how much he really brought and contributed to the original songs.
The following week Sam and I did the final sound recording at GPS studios with Producer Glenn Philips and Hex on you became an album classic on just the second take. Sam went on to contribute to the 11 track album with blistering lead guitar work on other “Let sleepin demons Lie” album tracks such as the gritty bluesy “Down Mississippi Way”, the venomous, unforgiving “Rollin Thunda and the classic man on the run song “Wanted by the FBI”.
As result of all his hard work, dedication and commitment Sam was invited to join the band snapped up the opportunity and is now the No 1 and a major player and contributor to Elias.T.Hoth band live performances.
