just watching some Youtube cool vids, not all crap wasnt the 1990s

there was a lot of crap about same as in any decade..however i used to like a lot of the following and still do, quite a range of stuff im thinking "alternative",some great music in this decade, but is criminally ignored by bands on the circuit, i know some do play some of this stuff but id happily go and watch any band that did loads or some of the following and would really enjoy being a punter getting my ears battered with some of this lot:

Alice In Chains
Faith No More
early Manic Street Preachers
Bush
Pearl Jam
Live
REM
Incubus
Weezer
Rage Against The machine
Korn
Soundgarden
Therapy
Wildhearts
Stone Temple Pilots
Foo Fighters
Janes addiction etc etc

if i could pick anything though, to hear a band doing 90s rock a la Rage, alice in chains, soundgarden and rage against the machine would be wonderful to go and watch

to me if its good i cant care who does it or what style, but the 1990s seem woefully under-represented

Great list Rob. I'd love to see a band do Alice In Chains 'Rooster' and Soundgarden 'Rusty Cage'. Those 2 plus others by the above artists would be something else.

Done many of those at some stage in Delirium or Angel Of Sin.
Weezer and STP did not go down well with the usual pub audience...

All brilliant bands, most make my favourite bands as well: RATM, Foo Fighters, Korn etc. Although it seems you have missed out the Red Hot Chilli's on ya list!

Ah that reminds me of everything I listened to when I was 16-17. Shame to see Smashing Pumpkins missing from that list - particularly Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. You'll be pleased to hear we've just finalised a sweet zep-esque version killing in the name of! just in time for christmas..... !?

Aaah - my youth.

I have to say though, that for me the '90's were when REM went bland - I prefer all the earlier stuff upto the album 'Green'.

What was the rock program that used to be on at about 3 in the morning? I used to video it (video!) and watch it on a Sunday morning.

First saw AIC and Pearl jam on it, and a strange looking guy called Joe Satriani doing 'Big Bad Moon'...

Raw Power hosted by Krusher Joule?
It went by a few names in the late 80s.
