How come they chose a name for a band that already existed?

Ive no idea , was a long time ago maybe they didnt know or didnt care, the german warlock was formed in 82 it may be that the irlam version was formed before that, In saying that I doubt even the humble folks of Irlam would assume that the "real" Warlock would travel from Germany to play at Cadishead labour club. maybe they thoughtif Bolton can have an Iron maided the Irlam can have a Warlock

Good info. In the mid 70s I was in a punk band called Stray Dogz. Nothing ever came of it, but the Stray Cats got real popular and people thought we just jumped on that name and changed it. unbeknown to us there was a US band called Stray Dog. Not forgetting the two bands called Nirvana too.

I have a vague recollection of jamming with Ken upstairs at his house in Irlam (bizzarely with those big mashalls). It came about as we had mutual friends from the Warrignton Lion. He was putting together a Judas Priest style band IIRC which was Warlock.

Heard nothing from him since that time though.
