For all those waiting for my input.........

Sorry, but I'm staying well out of it. Everyone knows my thoughts on how people use this website. Rather stay out of it than be cast as the comedy villain once more.

[Edit: When I read this back, it sounded very self indulgent. It wasn't meant to]

Think you only have to look at how few blog posters there are recently to realise the site may have become somewhat stale. The site is very informative no question (venue search, gig guide, band profiles, repetoire etc) but I do wonder how many people find the 'blogs' interesting and relevant? I used to enjoy reading regular posts from the likes of Metaleeka Scott and Bad Horsie Mick, and it's a shame when much-welcomed comments & opinions from venues now appear none existent (apart from 1 or 2 which gets a bit samey samey IMO).

I've posted a lot less than usual over the last month or two (both this profile & SB profile) apart from the odd gig plug, mainly due to an increased workload away from the band but also because I felt the community blog became competitive, irrelevant and in parts boring, effectively alienating contributors from the site.

I'm not going anywhere, I still like the site & it's informative features and will continue to use it in the interests of my band..but more as an observer than a regular poster. You have to ask questions when one of the most popular and respected venues decides to leave the site.

@ Dean, good points matey. I have always said - every two months this site goes bongo for a few days, then it's back to normal. Don't know why but it does. ?????

@ Asa, get off that fence now and pull the splinters out, pmsl,

Rick.

@Rick - do you want the full blog, or the highlights? I've drafted about seven responses to these blogs all morning and had to stop myself from posting!! We should be promoting NWB to benefit the fans, the bands and the venues. Given what's been posted today, I cannot hand on heart recommend this site to anyone, and that makes me sad.

@ ST, Well I recommend this site to various people every week and sometimes wish I had waited 'til the bongo period had gone away, lol,

Wick.

To be honest I don't have the inclination to post here much these days. I'm having a good enough time reading some of the blogs but frankly don't have the time to commit to seeing XXX or going to meetings, no matter how great an idea they are. I've been more interested in keeping our site up to date. :o)
