Burly Chassis have equalled their own gig record this year!
Starting with 'The Bondhi' (was 'The Flamin' Galah', was 'The Ulhuruhuru Rooms') in Altrincham, this Friday night to celebrate 'Oztraylia Day', the pulsating ball of energy that is The Chassis launch their manic, tireless and relentless 4 date tour of 2011!
Only once before have this extremme party band commited to such a grueling schedule, and that time it ended with the departure of their bass player, who just couldn't handle the pressure of waiting for the next gig. So bad was the split, that he actually moved to Australia. His management later said that "if Branson had got his arse in gear, he would have gone to the moon, but as it is,Australia is as far away from that bloody band as he can get!"
This Friday (the 4th) will see the first Burly Chassis gig since they started work on their second demo album. Having so far taken nearly a year and around £1000 much is expected of their forth coming release. Greg (their drummer) told me of the drive for perfection that has lead to the delays in it's launch.
"It was just supposed to be a quick, 'live' demo for hawking around to venues and stuff" he said "but Stu and Mark and Larry are really up for getting the sound bang on, and Jez keeps adding vocal bits" And has he been fiddling with the drum parts at all? " Oh, God no" came the reply " I just put them down live in one take, and now I can't be arsed"
So, with the chance that this could be the last ever Burly Chassis Tour of World Domination, I would urge as many as you to see this band while you still can. It could well be that seeing BC in 2011 will not just be the highlight of your giging life, but one of those 'where were you' moments.

PS I don't get paid for this you know!
But they are really, awfully, bloody nice blokes.
And the show is brilliant.
And I won't be there - but iainRkid will, and he could do with some company.
