Heard the latest ...

I was a massive fan of these , back in the day when I was just a young pup !

For years now though , Ive had this (rather blinkered) opinion , that all their good material came from the eighties , and that everything since has been fairly ordinary at best.

Anyway , the other week a mate of mine lent me a copy of their 2010 album "The world is Yours" . I have to admit , it blew my fekking pants off - and its got to be up their with their best material .

Give it a listen , if you havent already - you wont be sorry . Meanwhile , Ill be checkin` out more of their recent stuff

been hearing their latest release on rock radio last few days-jury's still out for me. is motorhead-no doubt about it-not sure it has the ingredients to be a motorhead "classic" though-in my opinion lemmy's vocals sound strained and a tad below what they were (probably not surprising, given what he's done to himself over the years?)and am not sure whether those riffs don't sound a bit contrived or not? is growing on me, though.:-D

I understand wht V says as regards some of the licks sounding a tad Contrived , but ehh thats a trus Motorhead sound, so that i can live with , I personally think the album is really good , and long awaited in my eyes , and prob the best one since deff the late 80's.
Lemmy does sound like he is singin bout his teeth tho lol he whistles when he sings lol.
But ehh , are you gonna fuckingt tell him ! ha ha !
My claim to fame !
i was 0nce told by Lemmy in his words , Fuckin hell man you play loud !!!! wtf ! this is from the guy who made my eardrums bleed at wigan casino in 1976 - 77 ish lol

@ bass bloke and everyone- don't misunderstand me,bro- i ain't knocking it as such-as i say- it's DEFINTELY motorhead-which-standalone-is always worthwhile-i'm just not yet convinced that they haven't stayed just that tad too near to a "formula" without the passion and drive of the earlier stuff? :-)

I saw Motorhead way back, may be '77 ish. Accy town hall, supporting an unknown then Scorpions. Motorhead turned up late, after Scorpions had finished so in effect being the main act. Been one of my favorite bands ever since. Decent new album as well.

Loved them for years. My only problem with the new album is that the drums are buried in the mix, and that's not what they're about. To me it looses that "certain summat" that defined their classics.
