A huge loss to the guitaring community. I wasn't keen on his blues playing but he was a big influence on me when he played rock.

I saw him once in the mid 80's in Blackburn and then at the 'welcome to the garden party' gig at Milton Keynes. He kept his big trench coat on for the entire Blackburn gig and must have lost a stone in sweat. A great rock guitarist.

Gutted, met him some years ago and he taught me some bluesy licks - easy to play but very effective - he was a real nice guy, one of the greats. Like someone said, normally just say oh well, another gone - but this hurts.

Off to see BYD later - will we get a Mr C tribute? Hope so.

RIP Gary, your legend will live on.

I've been thinking of ways in which to pay tribute to this guitar legend... I've learned "Devil In Her Heart" so far... Too bad my Les Paul's in bad nick atm so I've done it on my Jem. I thought of getting a jam together with a few others... Don't know if the idea will ever come to fruition but we'll see...

What a blow! Saw Gary Moore countless times. He could play any style really, rock, blues, jazz fusion, metal. He's left an amazing body of work that was successful, dynamic, varied, rich and that I don't think will ever be matched again. If i could pick one moment of his recorded career, it would be the end of the live in Stockholm video playing The Loner...RIP
