In the early 90's I entered my 'Cock Rock' band 'Crazee Bone' into the national 'Metal Mountain' Battle of the Bands and we got through 6 rounds to the Grand Final at the Queens Hall in Bradford...I also 'depped' for a mates Heavy Metal band 'Axis Sally' in a semi-final at Rio's and they got to the final too...but the organizers said I couldn't play in 2 bands in the final as they thought I was a 'ringer'...ha ha ha.
My band ended up 3rd.....the other band got their ex-bassist to play the final...he'd originally left to form 'Gomez'...remember them ???
They came last...
A great experience but it was definitely fixed...
