NME have posted official confirmation it's all a loada bollox
<a href="http://www.nme.com/news/various-artists/42188">Article on NME website clears the confusion once and for all</a>
Good - does that mean no more 'sign this petition' against noise reduction because it really started to bore me.
You can sign it if you want but it's a waste of everyone's time. Apaprently local councils have been abusing their position and making pubs have them installed illegaly too, knowing the venue wouldn't be able to afford to challenge them in court! If you are a venue and this has happened then you are probably better to start a petition to that effect and stop this abuse of position happening. As for the rest of us......TURN THE FOOKERS UP THIS WEEKEND AAAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!
lovely....................:)
glad i got my Marshall modified to 11, its one louder
Nidge, are you guys local Saturday? Remember you sayin somethin about you guys playing down the road or am I totally off mark. We're on at Butchers if you're out & about.
Yes mae we are on @ The Roundhouse doing the Scavengers MCC Winter Rock night! We were saying the other night that it's a pity Buck didn't move this one week @ Butchers to a Friday and we could have come down! We'll deffo be @ Blue Boar though next time as we've no gig on 21st Feb and that won't change as we've set that aside to come and support you guys!
Nice one mate - tis' a shame & prob would be better off our gig being Friday instead but nevermind. As long as Buck doesn't start asking us where everyone is. Dean.
Only the scavangers will come to see us mate, it's £6 on the door and that will put off many of buck's regulars plus we played there NY eve so you'll be ok. Have a good un
wot do you mean its a hoak, i,v been arrested protesting with a big drum out side the council offices, naa i,m only joking.
I must say Nige, you're definitely worth the 6 quid. . . x
i did try to point that out?in these days of the internet and "freedom of information" it is not difficult to verify ANY type of "proposed legislation" through a bit of research!!! :-/
more volume,more overdrive raaaarrrggggghhhhhh!!
Now, what did I tell ya.
But was it the 64,000 signatures that brought about this denial? Guess we will never know. When this was brought to my attention there were only 300 people signed up. I for one am really pleased there is no apparent truth to the rumour, but it wasn't about noise it was a supposed link to Binge Drinking, the governments favourite campaign, (apart from sending the country into bankrupcy). There is however a caveat in the statement. "A spokesperson for the Department Of Media, Culture And Sport told NME.COM, that while they were unable to speak for the government as a whole, there is currently "no universal plan to fit noise control devices, or any plans at all to fit them in the way described"
well if they do try to impliment noise limiters legaly, you can call this a reahersal of objection. and we will double the64,0000 next time. power to the bands.
cheers Shell x
