Rogues a new exciting and orginal rock band from Warringtion

Rock N’ Rogues

The Warrington WA 1 venue hosted some of the current North West up and coming contemporary live bands last night Friday 23rd January! It ws not the biggest venue in the world, but never the less both well attended and supported. Of the 3 bands that performed there is no doubt band No 2 Rogues are an original emerging talent and certainly producing a very inventive and dazzling original rock performance.

The band will beyond doubt become a formidable rising force to be reckoned with on the North west original live band circuit. The 4 piece band certainly has its own unique depth, charismatic energy, with material that clearly had real intense contemporary quality. for me Metallica, Foo fighters, Shine down and Heavens Basement comes to mind!

Drummer Jonny Abbott proved to be a highly focused cornerstone of the band, providing some of the best live precision drumming I have seen and heard in a long time. Jonnys slashing and sudden jagged flicks, kicks and directional beat shifts were a strong feature in many of the bands songs and gave a constant energy, intenstity and pressure to the material keeping the entire band as well as every one on the very edge.

Bassist Luke Roland continually wrestled with his bass to bring out some dramatic and highly powerful and stunning bass lines with his fingers rarely still, providing a dark back drop to the bands high temperature feverish rock tracks.
Luke’s precision bass work, timing and coordination proved to be top class with his execeptionally consistent delivery
throughout the entire original set.

The bands lead guitarist Sam Barnett who had been the substantial architect and driving force behind the original material certainly shone and towered with his magnificent stage presence and dazzling frantic lead guitar solos. Not to mention his showman straying forays into the audience whilst still effortlessly producing more mesmerising lead guitar fret work.

Dynamic singer front man Ant Hammil provided some high quality originally crafted top class vocals, classic Ian Gillan
and David Coverdale vocals actually spring to mind. It is always difficult to sing alone as a front man but Ant certainly
stood the test far exceeding my expectations and undoubtly proved his talent as a writer and performer and above all
his special ability to deliver some searing rock vocals.

Some of the best songs of the set for me were Temptation”, “Rip & Grip” along with an excellent rock track called “Reaper”. However top of the song list on the night was beyond doubt what must eventually go on to be a raging Rogues classic “Devils Dance” the crowd loved it simply erupting with roaring enthusiasm at it’s eventual sudden and sharp conclusion.

Though we only received a relatively short set just under an hour, the band certainly drew its self a definitive line in the sand, which I’m sure will prove to be a tremendous launch pad for future Rogues live gig performances.

Rogues delivered beyond any doubt truly amazing, dynamic live original rock material of the highest calibre. They should be very very proud indeed of their momentus acheivements, I do very much hope we shall see more of
Rogues live !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU CANT BEAT ROCK & ROGUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
