but I'm getting abit sick and tired of all this bitchiness
I play drums.
I play drums because I love making music and can't play anything else well enough to do it in front of people.
I have no illusions that I am the best drummer in the world, but, thankfully, I'm good enough that my band mates want to play along with me.
So I play drums with my bands and have bloody good fun doing it and I think from the reaction we get and the rebookings we get that most of the punters and venues we play for think we are OK aswell.
But I also love music and the associated buzz that goes with it, so that when I'm not playing I go to see other bands and meet other people and have bloody good fun doing that.
And because this is a muso forum I am under the illusion that other people on here will be interested in what is going on out there.
So I tell people where I am going in the hope that they might want to come along.
So I review the bands I have seen in the only way I know how - honestly.
So I review venues in the hope that it will help other bands to know what to expect if they haven't played there.
And from the feedback I get from some of you, and from the amount of people that HAVE come along to a gig, it is worth it.
But what is it with the 'blowing smoke up arses'?
What is it with the 'brown nosing'?
What is it with the 'arse kissing'?
What is it with 'cliques'?
Why would anyone on here have a go at anyone else (and I'm not talking about discussion or disagreements) - aren't we all in this together?
This La La Land of ours is the best forum I have ever come across, both for content and structure, and there is alot of support and good natured entertainment on here.
But there is also an under current of 'having a go' at people for reasons I don't understand.
At the end of the day (the sun goes down), you either join in on here or you don't.
Why make snide comments on other people?
I just don't get it.
