My collection was about 1,500 at the last count around 6 years ago! It's quite comedy as me and the mrs have done the "merge the record collections" thing and she's metal all the way so sitting in between my extensive DM collection and Durutti Column CDs is a wedge of Disturbed and my Tangerine Dream occupies the same shelf as the discographies of Trivium and 36 Crazyfists!

In that case I've got 11 Thin Lizzy!

Pearl Jam - if you've got 'Ten' and 'Vs' I'm afraid you have to get 3 more! 'Vitalogy', 'Yield' and the latest one 'Back Spacer'.

I'll happily lend you them if you want a listen first....

I'm waiting for Anthem Mark to chime in with his Rush collection.

Sadly I haven't got more than 3 albums by any band. It's all about individual songs on my MP3 player.

I love the movie and the soundtrack

I know it's very cheesy but his voice around that time was at it's peak for me :)

What is the most cash you have spent on an album????

£50 in 1981 on Story Of Genesis Jap import. Had every song off it but NEEDED it for cover alone ;)

not quite sure, but ive just spent 15 quid on the Whitesnake album pack with magazine, badge, poster ,plectrums and the album, and its so cool!

yeah late 80s Phil was really at the top of his game, But Seriously is my fave of the three albums around that period

Buster is great isnt it!

i want the Tyketto album Dont Come Easy but its about 25 quid on Amazon, hard to get on Ebay and keep losing out on the Skin 1994 self titled album!

John whats the best Genesis albums to get(i prefer Phil vocal Genesis and only got Phil Solo albums, need some Genesis but would try some Gabriel era as long as its not too prog)

"@ Mick - that's the problem with you youngsters - no concept of the worth of an album.... "

LMAO! Gerrof my lawn you noisy brats! ;o)

I prefer it now where you get to choose the songs you like and don't have to lift the needle over the 14 minute guitar/keyboard solo or the 14 filler songs that would take up the same gap ;o)

I really wanted to do this but looked round me play room in dismay - too many CD's, proper records and tapes arranged according to the international standard known as chaos. Hah I thought, all me CDs are on me itunes library together with about 5% of vinyls and tapes - it totals them at 22000 songs, how many albums is that? Wonder how many are duplicates? Too many questions, too late at night :-)

Anyway biggest selections were from...

Nick Cave
Julian Cope
Bowie
Bob Marley
Prince Jammy
Stones
Beatles
Doors
Clash
Green Day
The Who

Not sure how many, if any of these, would appear in a list of my favourite bands - they just released mo for me to choose from...

Rob, sometimes (and it's rare) Filler can grow on you and become the foundation of why we like a band. There's a line though. Some songs are better than the singles. Some songs are no better than a piss break without lifting the needle. ;o)
