Band on the Wall, Manchester - Tues 17 May

One of my guilty pleasures. Class funk rock band celebrating 20 years since the release of Pocketful of Kryptonite. Anyone going to this?

Funny that - really liked that album, but never heard anything else by them.

Did they do anymore albums?

A few. The second album "Turn it upside down" is my personal favourite. They changed personnel a few times and released a couple more albums before the original line up returned with "Nice talking to me" in 2005.

I've always rated Aaron Comess as a top, top drummer. Definitely the biggest influence on my funk playing.

Yeah, I remember the drummer being pretty handy, but never knew his name.

I seem to remember they did a few festivals off the back of 'Pocketful', but that's when they seemed to slide into obscurity....

Rock Radio still play 'Two Princes' and 'Little Miss Can't be Wrong' on a reasonably regular basis.

Enjoy it!

"Little miss cant be wrong" reminds me of my school days and summer piss ups in Sandbach Bunking off school and smoking my dinner money in the community park (Cigerettes) btw ... Awesome

The singer had some throat condition that affected his voice and was told not to sing for a certain amount of time iirc - just round about at the height of their fame.
Cleopatra's Cat is the biz.

This post has just reminded me to dig out Cleopatra's Cat - what a bloody tune that is.
