All I can say is why watch a bunch of overpaid prima-donnas with super injunctions when you can watch the Super 8 Cynics this saturday! (shameless plug).

As annoying as Platini moving the champions league final to Saturday night, I sort of hope United win - as long as the fans aren't too vitriolic if they do. It's good for Manchester at least.

Good luck to everyone who's gigging tomorrow, especially during the game. Anyone playing in or around Liverpool or a rugby town should be alright at least.

I'm a footy fan but I hate the premiership as it's killing the game. The champions league is the most overblown and banal tournament in football. Sure the final is interesting but up until the quarters, I've had more fun watching paint dry!

definately - there are 11 gigs currently listed on blackpoolgigs.co.uk for this saturday - one of them a full day acoustic festival on north pier, and the other an all night festival at the blue room.... so there is NO excuse for not getting out and supporting your local music scene.

It's never been 'cool' though has it to be in a rock band and be a football supporter at the same time?

...load of bollocks!

C'mon you Reds.

IMO

Quite a few bands had/have their own football teams - Rod Stewart has his own pitch!

I've just found out that our gig tomorrow starts right after the final whistle and the room we are playing in will have four big screens showing the match.

C'mon you Reds!!!!!!!

We are doing the same, allowing the football to go on first then the band start straight after. We pay a shit load of money for the rights to show football, it pays during the football season to have football on. Sorry to all the bands that cant stand it but we have bills to pay.

I wouldnt cancel a band to put football on though, just delay the start time.

No Reazon playing at The Black Dog. ALready spoken to the band and they are cool with playing soon as footy is finished.

Just my opinion.

@ black dog-ossy-is always a hard call, dude-venues have to make a living in these hard times-however-most venues who put live bands on regular, such as yourself, usually, find an "accomodation"? isn't a decision i'd like to make, though-never going to please everyone, methinks. ;-/

We will sound check early, start watching the match (not in the band room) then go on when asked.

It's gonna be tight but I want United to win although I'm a Wanderers fan !

I put a blog on here ages ago suggesting that musicians on the whole are not interested in music. This is probably a "sport v arts" situation. There are exceptions of course, the following are big footy fans-

Iron Maiden (even had a team!)
Rod Stewart
Jim Kerr
Robert Plant
Robbie Williams
Gallagher brothers
Elton John
Brian Johnson
Ian Brown

Both of my gigs tomorrow will be over and done with before the footy even starts. I will be watching - and with no offence intended to any real utd fans out there.....as an A.B.U. - I'll be cheering on the Catalan Giants!
