What an amazing day at the Beaumont yesterday

Superb entertainment and nearly £2000 raised for Kids of Bolton Charity

After having a nightmare start with a band pulling out through illness and the 2pm band making a no show we finally got some good news that Shredder would come down and fill one of the later slots. So we kicked of at 4 with SKP. As you will all know SKP are a very talented and entertaining band who always seem to be on top form. Scott Karen and Paul gave a great performance and really got the day moving.
The Barbershop Boys then gave us something completely different with items from Queen and Lady Ga Ga among others in their unique syle . Another great performance which went down really well.
Next up The Jade Assembly an originals band from Bolton. I can safely say that their music and performance was superb. These guys could go far. The songs they performed sounded like you knew them as classics even though you had never heard them before. A sign in my mind of quality songwritng. I thoroughly recommentd you catch up with this band if you can
A 40 minute spot from Beaumont regular Ricky followed. He produced hit after hit of Neil Daimond classics again a great performance and entertainment for everone.
Shredder next up and the highlight of the day for me. What an amazing duo and Johns guitar playing just blew everyone away. See my other blog for a more detailed review but this was some performance and will be talked about in the Beaumont for a long time
Idle promise then finished the night off.
The pub was packed the bar ran out of Carling Kronenberg Becks and Stella which says it all really
Although the final figure is not yet in we expect ift to be close to £2000 which is fantastic.
Thanks to Graham and Julie for hosting the event and to Graham Ste (Johnny Meerkat) and Tex off NWB for coming over to support it
But finally a great big thanks to all the bands for giving their time and making this a day no one will forget for a long time

Nigel

Well done to all concerned, there certainly felt like a great atmosphere was building before we had to leave and from what I am reading and hearing it sounds like a fantastic day & night.

Again Well done Nigel and I'll be grabbing a bit of Shreder on your recommendation

"the bar ran out of Carling Kronenberg Becks and Stella"
which may "say it all" but not to "Carling Kronenberg Becks and Stella" drinkers!!

Run out of MY beer ....... no money from me, no matter what the charity!!

Punters are regarded as nomarks these days IMO.

:0)

Well done however in raising all the money you could

Well theres still San Miguel to go at so no problem for the punters there Willow especially as it was about 1 in the morning when they ran out. I would say it shows the support not how the punters are treated. If you get a new years eve in May good luck to the venue and they will support bands because of that. I think thats what we all would want. Well done Graham and Julie. Not like you Willow that comment

wouldn't give you tuppence for any of the above lagers ......

however it's not MY pub ..... so perhaps they're OK losing 2 or 3 (or 6 or 7) (or 12 or 15) bitter drinkers on their "new year's eve in May"

Band(s) or no band(s) it's still a local boozer and should run out of beer at their peril.

However ,,,,, i did say ... "Well done however in raising all the money you could"

And ..... I know it's not Wednesday, but, if it was, you'd know that the comment is "exactly" like me ....
:0)
apologies tomorrow!!

hehe

I thank you for your congratulations on the amount raised. As far as beer preferences are concerned I must say I drank a pint of tetley bitter last night something I can safely say I have not done for about 25 years. I actually enjoyed it.
