The Old Bank Inn, Blackpool

End of an era for us :(

Unfortunately, after lots of heartache we have decided to give up The Old Bank Inn and concentrate on The Station Tavern in Lytham. The area in Blackpool where the pub was located, has become so run down and all the businesses are closing around us, meaning less and less people are coming into the area. We have desperately tried to keep both the pub and live music scene going, but as many bands are aware, this has become more and more difficult as the months have gone on.

As far as we were aware, the new landlady of The Old Bank was going to continue with the bands, however, staff have advised us that this is not on her agenda. At the moment, the pub is closed but I can only assume this is just a temporary measure and will be open asap. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how this is going to affect the bands that I had booked and I can only apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you. Should I get any further information or a contact number, I will keep you up to date.

Many bands have been contacting me over the last few weeks for bookings at both the The Old Bank & The Station, I sincerely apologise for the lack of response but hope you will all understand that we have had a lot going on over the last few weeks and until I know whats happening at The Old Bank, I want to keep as many dates free as I possibly can at The Station. For this reason only, I do not intend to book anything else in my diary for a few weeks. New bands (to me) remain on my list for bookings (as it is my belief that music should be kept aLive by giving customers variety) but I just need time to do lots of shuffling and get as many free dates as possible.

Our decision to leave has not come lightly and after many tears we are both still heartbroken. And although we know that the decision is the right one, it doesnt make it any easier! The only thing keeping us going at the moment, is the fact that we hope to see all our friends at the Station we've met over the years and build an even bigger and better live music venue.

Much love and hugs,
Jackie, Billy and all our team
xxxxxx

Yet another pub I've closed! Shame, as that was a great night last Saturday.

been lucky enough to play at both venues and appreciate how gutted you must be about the old bank x.
fingers crossed that the Station turns heads as far as live music is concerned in Lytham, and with ur enthusiasm and excitement for live music it won't be long before the Station is the place to go for top bands and excellent music - good luck to you both and we wish you every happiness with your new venture xx

Sad to see the Old Bank go.
T'was a great venue with one of the best landladies and I've always loved playing there (with 3 different bands!).
It's good that The Station is working out for you, though.
See you soon.

We have no bookings for The Station Tavern btw, lol

See you soon,

Aw really sad news Jackie! We always had a great time at the Old Bank, and if the Station can be bigger and better then all will be well! If you would be interested in having us play in your new venue (or maybe even transferring our dates from the old bank?? nudge nudge lol!) then we'd be more than happy to oblige.

All the very best,

Frankie Al + Lee

Never mind, Jackie, you made the right choice for you, I reckon :-) The Old Bank under your command was an awesome night of live music, but the Station will be EVEN BETTER! Rock on! :-)

See you at the Station in August! Can't wait! :-)
