How about a NWB outing to watch this great band and support this famtastic venue

After two really disapointing weeks at the Beaumont Arms next sunday sees the arrival of Night Train. I would ask you all if you could come down and support this superb band and venue. It really is the last chance saloon and if we dont get a crowd then thats if for Sundays. None of us want to see more venue closures or time restrictions so I really would appeal to you to support my good friends Julie and Graham and my good friends John and Alec and the rest of NightTrain next Sunday. Johnny Meerkat SKP The Rozzers and other bands have been supported by this venue so please can you give something back next Sunday along with other NWB members who are booked by this venue or hopefully wiil get the opportunity in the future.. This is a great venue for bands to play lets show our support. Please those of you who have the power on this site rally round and lets see a great turnout and secure this venue for a long time in the future

No need for the comment Rick then No one was questioning your commitment . You were implying the Beaumont hadnt supported you so why support them.. Thats fine if thats how feel but why comment im sure theres lots of venues on here who have acted the same but im only trying to help save another sunday venue. If that is a triviality fine dont support it but dont ridicule it either

lol. The 45's are Nikki, Luke, Terry and Rick.

WE "tend" to support venues that support our band.

Julie and Graham are lovely people but when we played at The Beaumont (once) in 2009 the punters treated The 45's like shit ! - I'll pm you if you want the full S P.

You're the blog owner, delete my comments if you wish, I don't give a monkeys, lol,

Don't pm Rick put it on here I've always been one for naming bands and venues. If that's the case let's all hear about it. I've no problem with hearing the truth. If that happened then it's not on but no need to pm me. It's ok for everyone to know

Right then. The 45's went to the expence of putting on "Jeff's Famous Lightshow" for our gig there - paid by The 45's so that we could give the punters something extra !

The screens were showing the rugby and it was fairly packed. No one would get out of the way as we were bringing in all the gear - making it very stressful indeed.

When we set up, we obvoiusly tuned our instruments to the shouts of "shout the fuck up" and being threatend by some wanker !

We went on and we might as well played to an empty room, going off the responce after each song !

Then the abuse really started when the smoke machine kicked in !

Music venue?...... We don't think so,

The 45's

ps I personally had to man handle a dick head outside as he was trying to nick things from my van !

Final say. Good Venues are about "The appreciative music crowd" that the Landlord/lady have built up with a lot of effort, over a long period of time, These venues know who they are.

The 45's.

what i cant understand is why isnt the beaumont advertising the bands and pushing there venue ?? they are a NWB member. we didnt even know they did live music never mind struggling for support. we wish the beaumont all the best and hope they continue with live music but they have got to push them selves more.

Dave and Dee
I agree with you but I said I would put the info on here for them to help out. The Beaumont normally do Saturday nights for live entertainment and they are very well attended on most occasions. It was thought that during the summer it would be nice to have bands on Sunday teatime. Obviously it takes time to build this up and advertising and awareness is a large part of it. My original post had this in mind and I never expected for it to end up in an argument with Rick. It was purely an attempt on my part to ensure this Sunday afternoon slot remained in place and wasn't axed which surely would benefit some bands on this site

Our initial statement should have been understood as, "The Beaumont gave us a gig so we'll lend our support back".

The next statement was, "we'll probably be there" - can't be more simpler than that, can it?

The fact that we're in no rush to go back and play at The Beaumont after our ordeal there, does'nt mean that some of us won't respond to your plea.

We are playing ourselves Sunday night, so we're not too sure who will be coming and how long for but we'll try and make it.

We are not arguing with anyone and well done with your initiative of trying to build up a crowd for this Sunday,

The 45's.

nigel - I think most people that you really know off this site you can credit with supporting other bands and venues as and when it is possible to do so.

The biggest ambassadors of that being rick n anne in my opinion.

Everyones circumstances vary, and we (me n scott) endeavour to get out to support this, as do you, as much as we can...which is difficult when we've 2 young kids to whom all our spare time is prioritised to, no matter who's playing where, when or why.

I think writing things on here can easily be misread as things aren't read in the same context that they're written, sometimes we just have to give people the benefit of the doubt and see the positive way before the negative : -) peace! cya soon x

I agree Karen but read my third post is that not giving the benefit of the doubt and saying I may have interpreted it wrongly. I apologised at the same time . Rick never clarified his position until Monday morning. I dont expect everyone to drop everything and come and I understand your positon fully. I was only trying and unfortunately some of us on here cannot do right for doing wrong. I certainly have learned my lesson again from this and will not be doing anything like that again. Put it this way if others had posted that the reaction would have been completely different. Sadly like I said lesson learned

Every comment was Tongue In Cheek (T.I.C.) - Look how I signed off our 5th comment, The TIC's.

... and plenty of "lol's" scattered all over our comments because it was ment to be funny as you took our initial comment the wrong way, lol.

It's gonna be real tight to get over on Sunday as we want to be setting up at The Oddfellows by 7.15 pm.

Hope it really goes well for N T and The Beaumont on Sunday,

The 45's.

No problem Rick like Karen says the written word can often be interpreted differently then the spoken word. Im afraid my knowledge of abbreviations extends to lol and pmsl I genuinely didnt know what TIC meant. I really didnt expect any of you to get over when you were playing the same night and thank you for the good wishes for Sunday
