Venue review

I have to say that this was one of my favourite gigs of the year.

Found the pub no probs with my musician friendly sat nav.

Parking straight to the side of the pub; load in through the smokers bit; into the pub via double doors, turn right and you're there!

This is one of those pubs where they put the band in an area with padded benches round it (in a 'U' shape type thing) and it was plenty roomy for us (4 pce).

I actually arrived late, so didn't see where the power points are, but there seemed to be plenty around.

Phil and Lynn who run the pub are a lovely couple, and Phil is a guitarist, so he knows his stuff musically.

We were warned not to set up too far forward, because of dancers, and to keep the sound level reasonable - they have one of those neighbours who has nothing better to do than complain, but our normal volume was acceptable.

Backline sound was excellent - I think all the padded seats round us stopped it being echoey.

We played to a very appreciative crowd of (I'm guessing) 30ish - people dancing from the off and they are vocal aswell!! We were told afterwards that there are normally double that number in, but as we were an unknown quantity, some of the regulars would wait for reports before coming to see us!

Just one of those pubs that are a joy to play - can't wait to go back.

Love to all
