Hi all.

Just wanted to see if this works here:

Ask any one on here a question: Can be serious or daft or stupid or downright silly: As soon as you answer it then ask someone else a question

I will start it off:

Synthy Mike:

What is you all time favourite keyboard you have owned?

Best wishes

John

The Roland Jupiter 8, without a doubt! Ooh, now for a new question. A photography one for social tornado... What's a good lens to use on an SLR for gig photography?

Question for Gary (LGIT) - does he come up against much prejudice from people in his day to day life on account of his outwardly punk appearance. Has he ever felt compelled to compromise his freedom of expression for the sake of conformity for, for example, a job interview or such like?

@Synthy Mike - Great question!

Ask any professional photographer and they will tell you that the best live/gig photos don't use flash photography as a) it distracts the performer and b) it kills the atmosphere in the photo. Working in low light requires a lens with a wide aperture (min f2) otherwise you end up increasing the ISO and exposure levels resulting in "grainy" pictures. Grainy sometimes looks good, but if every shot looks grainy, you're just highlighting the fact that you don't have the correct tools for the job. Wide aperture lenses also inspire creativity as you can play with depth of field - see my photos from the Last Gang In Town Shoot. The venue was pitch black save for LGITs stage lighting and I was pleased with the shots where I had one member in focus and another slightly out of focus. Especially the pics of the drummer where being slightly out of focus captured his energy. For that, I used a Nikon AF-S f1.4 DX lens. Hope that helps.

I can't think of a question, can I come back later please?

@ST cheers for the advice. My other half is really keen on her photography and has just bought a mega posh camera and she's interested in how to get really good gig photos. Brill!

@Mick BH

I don't own any pigs per se, but could be one of several within my entourage. Has it got any unique identifying marks?

Did you mean wig??

@Zoidberg - why have you not posted any blogs on NWB??

@Willow, I'm pretty sure it's a pig, as wigs don't have snouts. ;o)

Question for Tubthumper...
Why do you deem it's my responsibility to change my appearance and attitude just to conform with the sheeple.....off to room 101 with you...2+2=4, always has , always will...one of my sayings in life is this...
People laugh at me cos I'm different, I laugh at them cos they're all them same...
But thank you for your enquiry and your concern...come see us in Colne in a few weeks and I'll show you my tattoos...x

@ LGIT - don't put words in my mouth, I never said it was your responsibility. Quite why you have to turn everything into a battle defeats me. If you'd met me you would realise that in my own way I don't conform. It's always been a problem for me. Perhaps I was seeking advice/comfort from someone I admired for the strength of sense of self he has. Forget I ask. I fucking give in.

Nicola...we'll that'll teach you for asking stupid questions in the first place then won't it...sorry Luv, I'm only joking with you, I didn't mean to upset you or turn this blog into a battle zone...
Society in general forces us all to conform by making it our responsibility to 'fit in'...as a race, we have out sheeped the sheep...
My experiences in life have often forced me into corners I've had to fight my way out of...I grew up in an era and a place where you had learn how to defend yourself if you wanted to be different and I never gave in to a bully...I admit I do love a good row though, but most people who have met me say I'm not so bad really...

h'mmm - is a "great big main" what they call 'em these days? useful for stud purposes, i suppose. and a long tail with a bushy end that roars would be quite scary!!
