Our last gig...

...before our summer break.

You didn't think it was actually our last gig right? Oh no no...we're just taking our annual holiday break and return to the stage for Roughley's Bike Show on bank holiday Sunday 28th August. You don't get rid of us that easily, we still have people's ears to corrupt with that noisy racket they call Punk.

The weekend just gone flew by like a flash of lightning.

Friday we played Old Market Tavern in Altrincham and admittedly the quietest of the 3 times we've played there but a good night with those that were in nethertheless. Reportedly it seemed to be busier on Saturday for Aces N Eights so there's defintely life in the old dog so perhaps an off night. John the landlord had posted a blog earlier in the week detailing his concern about local trade and its effect on bands, it's something we all know is having an effect across the North West and a subject we're all too familiar with at the moment. I really enjoy playing OMT; spacious band area, in-house PA and some fine ales...I hope the band nights continue to be successful and we look forward to returning in November. Thanks to John, Jimmy and Luiz for all their help - also a thanks to Almepal who let me use his snare drum as a back-up as I only noticed my preferred snare had a split head whilst setting up. NWB community spirit in the nick of time!

Sunday early evening we returned to The Talbot in Burnley for what turned out to be probably one of the gigs of the year. Not a massive fan of Sunday gigs if I'm honest and the rain couldn't be belting down any harder, however...in the words of Jeff Wayne (WOTW)..."but still they come". Burnley (and surrounding areas) has always been a popular place for Punk, hosting popular local Punk Tribute 'Complete Control' and Chorley's very own 'The Stories'...they're all popular over this way and welcomed by the punters as equally as the next. There's no egos, just PUNK ROCK and a fuckin' good time! Make no mistake about it 'The Talbot' is a brilliant venue for bands; rasied spacious stage with perfect room acoustics overlooking an open-plan pub. If its busy you're in for a good un...yet strange to see blokes running wild to old Punk songs at only 7pm whilst still light outside. It's particularly rewarding to see the hard work from band & venue paying off over time in terms of people coming out to see us based on recommendations from others. We're chuffed to be part of the furniture in Burnley and long may it continue.

For those rocking the North West throughout August have a blast! I need a holiday...

Cheers Al, yep up & down everywhere...unfortunately something bands don't have much control over.

Thanks again for lending that Gretch snare...I had a few taps, sounds sweet!
