lmao - Its never me and you when a bands on its you watching a band but I cant help it

When ever we go out locally on my rare nights off from giging I like to catch other bands but its those nights that I also want to spend with the bird. However If I watch a band I forget everyone around me and actually fully focus on the entertainment infront of me. This can get me into trouble when shes asked me somthing and I say "errr what did you say?"

Dont get me wrong she likes live music thats one of the reasons we ended up meeting but she aint got it in her blood like me

Is it just me -- Am I selfish --- how do you lot deal with this ?

LoL ..Mick your a lucky fella - I think tho its more my attention span is MARK ZERO when Im watching a cool band and so she feels a bit "whats the point of me being here",

Unless its a band that play 80's film track numbers from the likes of Bowie and the Labyrinth - Then of course its the other way round lmao

My missus isn't interested, she likes our band and will come and watch us once a month but she's just not into a lot of the heavy stuff and wouldn't choose to go out and watch a band.

That means I don't get to go out as much as I'd like whe I'm not gigging so I feel your pain there. Having said that I like to see her when I'm not gigging and prefer to be sans wife when I'm gigging. It's easier!

My wife would love to come and watch my band every week but sadly due to my youngest daughters condition she has to stay home and look after her when I play. We do get a sitting service in whenever we are at The Moses Gate in Bolton as she knows where that is ;D

Does anyone else think that being in a band kind of kills your ability to enjoy other bands? I find it hard to watch ever "big name" bands now without thinking

"Ohh what is that keyboard/guitar/drums make and model?"

"How are they controlling the stage sound?"

"Are they using Midi there?"

etc etc etc

Instead of just enjoying the music like I used to when I was 14/15 or so.

Best wishes

John
