Stay positive or stay clear folks
How hard would it be to say (for example):"Do you know what, I don't think your idea will work, but best of luck to you for trying"?"I'm not a big fan of your music, but fair play for getting out there and entertaining those that do""I can't play for the fee you're suggesting, but good luck in getting bands that can and I hope your venue is a great success"This is a community. People have differing ideas. You don't always have to agree. But wouldn't it be nice if you could support everyone in their own ventures? Congratulate them when they do well. Commiserate with them if they fail. Learn the lessons as a community for the greater good. Work together.THIS IS NO COMMUNITY. THIS IS A GREAT BIG COMPETITION.
I have a chicken sammich.
@Mick - that's great! I like chicken. Enjoy your sammich my friend :o)
3,2,1 you are back in the room.............. Sorry couldn't resist..... ;-) Agree with what you are saying in broad terms. I have had dealings with venues on here who are unable to afford what we do and I always leave them with "I can't play for the fee you're suggesting, but good luck in getting bands that can and I hope your venue is a great success" More or less.... Best wishes John
I only have cheese - But I am willing to work hard to attain the heady heights of chicken ;-)
I had a full English breakfast by the way (with hash browns and Black pud)..... ;-) Best wishes John
@John FV - I thinking broader than just venues, but welcome aboard the good ship positive vibes!@Dom - How hard are you prepared to work? We need details. It's a long road from cheese to chicken, via paste, crabsticks, ham and beef. Someday you may even reach the heady heights of pastrami. Mmmmmm, pastrami :o)@John FV - With hash browns AND black pud - you dirty bastard!! I'm jealous, in a positive way.
@ST - Paste & crabsticks <shudder> @John FV - Overachiever ;-)
@Dom - yeah, you'd better put the effort in buddy!! lol
I have just upped my game - I have added Worcester sauce flavour french fries into the mix - Oh yeeeees!
Whoah there fella, don't be peaking too soon lol
No fair all i have to eat is breakfast in a tin and a pot noodle...
@The Twiddler - we all have to start somewhere my friend ;o)Pot noodles are like agents. Love them or hate them, they come in useful sometimes. Ooooooh topical!!
@ST , i like what you did there i can see a taste bud riot starting LOL
If anyone kicks off in my posiblog, they will be ejected!! My blog, my rules :o)
Ahh but if you eject them you lose points LOL
@ mick ... chicken sammich's are crap .... always have been ... you need to wash your brain out there fellah!
Do I look like a man that's desperate for CRaP points?
Sorry i was back in my game show mode Points mean Prizes or in my case you live on a top floor flat and have just won a conservatory hahaha
On a positive note may I just say that in my humble opinion Cheese and Red Pepper butties are the food of the Gods..... Pot Noodles on the other hand are works of the Devil. ;-) I Like Fridays, they give me crayons to write with..... Best wishes John
Ha ha ha. Crayon Fridays. Amazing!!!
I prefer the Korean version of pot noodle, i think they call them Not poodles :)
I have a Korean cook book 10000 ways to wok your dog.............. Alright officer I'll come quietly. Best wishes John
Yup, encouragement and support only goes to fuel a bands ambition and I too feel we as a community should get behind bands and assist rather than hinder each others development and, hopefully, eventual success.Tex
i however have just supervised my kids make (concopt- is that REALLY a word?) and fill my fridge full of pesky little sweet fixes called 'rocky road' - how apt lol ...now the decision i face is... 1 - rocky road with marshmallows - tried n tested recipe, always satisfy and leave you wanting more! OR 2 - rocky road with cherries - a bit on the edge, not really sticking to the rules of the recipe, not something id normally go for but sod it, why not.. im gonna give em a go anyway! sorry gone off on a recipe tangent there :-)
@Tex - This is half the battle. I appreciate your sentiment, but why limit it to bands? As a community we are more than bands. We are bands, venues, fans, signmakers, designers, photographers, agents and most of all people. We should encourage every single positive aspect of our little corner of the web. Not look to bring someone down before they have even got started. We cannot be a community until everyone adopts the community ethos and stops thinking of everyone else as competition. Once that happens, the possibilities are endless.@SKP - cherries all the way! Can I have the recipe please ;o)
@ST. You didn't mention conservatory builders or Heating Engineer/Plumbers in the above list!!!:0)@Karen - never got marshmallows apart from the bowler hat numbers!
@Jez - Blessed are the cheese makers..............apologies for leaving out conservatory builders, heating engineers, plumbers etc etc etc.
Now then ST - if we were in the same vacinity i could even let you sample a bit! Jez - huh??
@SKP - Take some to the Station tomorrow night ;o)
@ Tex - make me feel all warm- or have i shat meself?
hot toasted crumpet or a nice piece of shank works for me, every time!! ;-D
@Keith, change yer kex matey ;-)@ST, Yeah I know, n cattle drivers, gunslingers, banditos n ranch hands too ;-)
@skp- "Now then ST - if we were in the same vacinity i could even let you sample a bit! " am i sensing a bit of "needle" creeping in here??? ;-P
lol Viking - not at all, just didnt know if he (ST) was out n about last night watching bands in the same area as us thats all - no foul play here...just trying to empty my fridge haha ive managed to rescue 1 shelf, all the rest of my fridge contents are stuffed into the salad trays at the bottom!
@ skp-heh heh!! i was focussing (as y'do!) on the "spelling police" aspect-"VACINITY"? (think you meant "VICINITY"?) made me think of vets, falling down animals and such? -but then-once the medication kicks in - i'm not too bad!!! :-D as for "ive managed to rescue 1 shelf, all the rest of my fridge contents are stuffed into the salad trays at the bottom! " i reckon that's wayyyy too much information for this time on a saturday afternoon!! pmsl!! ;-P
@V...bugger, never was any good at spelling! lol
