Yes and my head still hurts, i was drinking all sorts last night! Had a lotta fun watching the FC Copenahgen fand burning Robinho shirts in the print works as well.....Big buggers they were n all! What a gig tho eh? they still got it but the MEN sound is frigging rubbish!
They were amazing in my opinion. Seen them a few times now over the last 15 years or so, but that was one of the best! They looked relaxed, happy and sounded killer. The stage show was great too and the crowd atmosphere really added to it. The new stuff really does sit amongst the older classics too. All in all, quality night out in my opinion! :)
I was there aswell. They are the best around and proved it last night. (to me anyway).
Oh yes we were there! Third time now. It was an amazing show. They played alot of stuff off the new album (Cyanide, Day That Never Comes, End Of The Line, Judas Kiss) and they all sounded great next to the old classics (Master Of Puppets, One, Enter Sandman, Sad But True) and then some fun cover stuff at the end. An amazing light show to rival Pink Floyd at times and a great atmoshpere. Brilliant gig.
Yeah they blew my head off, shame about the MEN`s sound but it was better last night than a lot of other gigs i been to there.Thought Machine Head were good to but it was my first Metallica gig and we`re seriously thinkin of goin to see em with Linkin Park etc in the summer if work allows. In short awesome !!
"EXIT LIGHT!...."
i wore earplugs for most of priest(ive never like listening to sermons anyways) and megadeth, my ears were still ringing for 2 days
Woodys Pissed... obviously!!
What a gig. Must echo Nidge's comments (well I was sat next to him, so it must be true! ;-) ) that the MEN acoustics hardly do the band justice. Metallica were awesome though and the band were visibly taken aback by the response from the crowd. The band stayed around to kick Metallica beach balls back into the crowd at the end of the gig for what seemed like ages. Lars summed it up as he reached for a mike right at the end and said: "Manchester - you guys know how to kick ass! It's 13 years since we played Manchester - way too long. We'll be back soon to play for you motherf***ers again real soon!" And that time can't come soon enough!
Totally agree there, it was an awesome night, the stage show was spectacular, thats the fifth time ive seen them now and they never fail to deliver, i also thought the new stuff sounded awesome live, it was also nice to hear stuff like Blackened and Turn the Page.
yeah, it was great to hear Turn the Page and Blackened live! The set was a real treat for fans, I felt. James said he missed the vibe Manchester has and he was right, the crowd was awesome and so loud when they came on! Metallica had the better sound of the night. Both The Sword and Machine Head suffered from a distict lack of decent vocal volume from where we sat and we were very close to the front. Certainly gives you a kick up the arse when you play in a band seeing a live show like that! get's you fired up for your next gig!!! :)
