Mr Mannering

Couple of embarassing / panicky moments thought I'd share.
Also be useful to understand if its just me / us!

1. OMT gig.
Rhythm Guitarist's Marshall head refuses to work once set up.
Cue mad panic checking cables, guitars, valves.
Mute button was pressed in.

2. Jolly Nailor gig.
Only the horn on one of the Tops is working.
Cue demolish and rebuild of speaker in 10 minutes flat.
Button on crossover depressed in error.

3. Wedding in Soughton.
Bass Cabs not working.
Cue puzzled expressions panicked checking all PA jacks/xls and speakon cables.
Power amp for Cabs wasn’t plugged in.

Oh how we laughed.
Fate has in retrospect been quite kind to us …….

You see this is why I stick to drums - what you see is what you get.

No sound? Is there a head on the drum or does your stick go right through?

Cymbals sounding muted? Take them out of the case and put them on stands, they sound much better that way.

Last time at the Talbot-Allen & Heath Mixwizard2 desk - no sound out of one side, swapped cables, checked balance knobs, tried bypassing crossovers in the sub - scratching head

Anyway the 3 faders on the right-some twot had swapped the buttons over so with my bad eyes it looked like I was sliding the two masters up instead it was the monitor fader and one of the sliders...grrrr

I have to say, touchwood, the Mackie SRM450s and the 1501 sub have been absolutely brilliant, used Samsons before, they used to eat horns and drivers

touchwood, touchwood

Dont tell them your name Pike!!
