EV S-200's

Sorry to repost, but just trying to get alternative solutions.

@Lee - The Kasuals and Rumble Fat Band - Thanks for the input guys. Found a guy in Keighley that will recone them for £67 each. Only problem now I've found is that one of the drivers is not the original EV! AARRGGHH!!

Can anyone else add any further input?

All,
I have a pair of EV S-200's that have dead drivers and the cabinets are just too good to bin 'em. But since the EV replacements are somewhere in the region of £200 each (if you can get hold of them), I need a pair of suitable alternatives.

The obvious choices are Eminence, Celestion, Fane etc, but I'm trying not to sacrifice the wonderful EV sound. I know some speakers can sound quite brittle and harsh and sometimes too trebley (if that makes sense!), and would like a warmer more rounded sound.

The rest of the PA is made up of 2 x HZ SB600 bass bins, 2 x Behringer EP2500 Europower amps with a Behringer CX3200 crossover and a Spirit Folio SX desk.

I could probably stretch to about £170 for a pair of drivers if I had to, but I really have no idea about PA stuff.

Anyone got any advice? It would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Mark

Thats the man you need. He does a great job. Don`t know what to do about the non original driver-----------tho I have seen them on Ebay. Worth buying a blown one and getting it reconed I reckon.

Speak to Lean Audio and explain your problem.

They are very good at suggesting suitable replacements and stock shed loads of drivers.
Personally I would want matched drivers in the Cabs even if they are non-original.
