He's from Saltburn a little bit further down the coast from Redcar.. Redar by the way is a great little town , a regular gig for NE bands its almost Tees Side ( in fact I think it was Tees Side at one time. ) Saltburn is a quaint little Victorian sea side town not far from Whitby once it was a very wealthy place, its near a lovely little place called Staithes.
Staithes Athletic club was the favorite gig for many NE bands, in the days before NE bands all had to travel to South York's for our regular gigs, Staithes was about as far South as Most NE bands got!

Coverdale is getting scary looking these days. It's like Barbara Cartland started a Whitesnake tribute band.

years of Marlboros, his voice is struggling now too unfortunately, last time i saw em this year he was dragging it on some toons and letting his band do the work.
