What's you favourite bit of kit?

Fantasy or one you actually own

Just a bit of fun and I don't think I have seen this done before.

If you could choose one piece of equipment (JUST ONE) with money no object....

What would it be?

Mine? (even though I sing for a living)

Sequential Circuits Prophet 10 keyboard.

Our ex keys man had one and I fell in love with it.

So.... What is yours?

Best wishes

John

The thing, loosely based on a bass, I'm hoping to have made once I can persuade a luthier to build it for me. Can't wait though I'm not sure how much of a change in direction it'll force for me - I guess that's half the fun!

A Park late 70,s 50watt 2x12 valve combo, tatty but sound so sweet !
Or some nice JBL small mid/top PA cabs Ive had for years.... The top end is massive, they have a 3 way switch for the top end for small, med and large rooms .
I replaced the 12" original speakers years ago for Fanes 450 watts, whilst not quite as sweet they handle a massive amount of power and with a 2x18 cab a side underneath them they have done some pretty big gigs and have held their own at anywhere Ive played and have stayed lovely and clean . People have asked where the rest of the PA is several times believing there were more mid tops!

@scott looking at the pics how does that work with a strap with the button being below a major overhanging bit of bodywork?

@ John, lol, er that would be "covet" unless you are suggesting I use my gear to conduct surveillance operations.

No, I actually have way more gear than I need and I long since learned that none of it will make me play or sound any better as it is all about me!

If anything, I covet a course of lessons from a truly inspirational teacher who can ignite my imagination and bring out any hidden potential I have as a player, if indeed any exists.

Honestly.

@ Nicola..... DOh'!...Forgive me my eyes are tired my legs are weak etc.... ;-)

Such teachers are hard to find I would imagine. Fair enough and a good point. I do subscribe to the point of view that the better equipment you have the more inspired you are to play with it, thus improving your musical education.

And I would still love a P10 ;-P

Have a great weekend

Fantasy bit of kit/gear would have to be a Fractal Audio AxeFX II with the MFC-101 foot controller

Some valve purists on here may shake their head and sigh but the sheer convenience of the above is what appeals to me apart from the quality of sound/tones (plus the fact I've always been into tech gear).

My Gordon Smith P bass, I've had it since 1979 and it's been everywhere with me, and some places without me.

I had a dream!!! And my dream materialised!! Here it is:

Goodfellow neck bought off ebay
Z bass 1 piece swamp ash body from Warmoth USA
Bartolini pickups and 5.4 pre amp active electronics
All gold hardware from Warwick Germany
Expertly completed by the genius that is Mr. Brian Eastwood
Total cost approximately £800 - but it's priceless to me.
Plays and sounds better than anything I've ever owned including Fenders, Warwicks and MM's
