But didn't use ?
I liked 'Area 51' - shame that there are several bands in the UK currently named Area 51 !!! its the unknown apparently !!! :O)
Jimmy Monkfish :oP
Rex n The Softporn Fluffers ;-P
The Wacky Racists.
A mate of mine once suggested 'Biscuits with moustaches' as a band name. Im having that one day.The same bloke when asked what kind of music he liked replied with "Sweet, Free & Deep Purple..just like me bollocks!"There is an Aussie band from Melbourne called "The Fish that John West Reject" always thought that was a good one
i thought Wicked Fingers for us,but lost out to Wagontown.Glad now cos ther's no one else on the planet called WT.,apart from a fire brigade somewhere in America....T
my nephew suggested 'itchy chipmunk' - I hated it at the time but it has grown on me... maybe next time lol!
A friend suggested Korky & the Krakwipes for us,we loved it but we couldnt agree on who would be Korky...T
Cheating a little as a band I was in for a brief moment did do one bottom of the bill 4 song gig with it but...H**DFUCK
.....Steaming Ponies!...... dunno why I turned that suggestion down!
While we were all sitting in the pub trying to think of a name, we overheard somebody telling the"what do you call a septic cat?....... Pus" joke so we thought Septic Cat was a great name.We were talked out of it by the barman who said it would be a great name for a punk band, which we aren't.I still like the name though, if we get any annoying pissed up tossers at gigs (which we always do) asking our name I tell them that instead.
Yellow SnowMy favourite is itchy chipmunk!
The Sex Patels.....
I always liked 'Isle of Lucy' could just never find a band to agree to it....... Landslide Punch was always kicking around in the background, as was Fear the Mullet........
my girlfriend is obsessed with me calling a band 'Pubic Perm' at some point. I'm not so sure :)My friend and I, when students, were 'emo'd' up by said girlfriend and others on a drunken night in. The name of our fictional emo band for the following photoshoot - 'None-Threatening Fat Kid'. Itchy Chipmunk still winning for me though :)
The CUM, I think why the rest of them wouldn't use it :{
Also gone out as Leopard Skin Larry and the Layabout's, and did a solo as Shy Ted
do some open mics for free and see what people call you, don't over think it
a bastardisation of austin powers "gravy booby" love that one and one i suggested to mick before DOA was named which had me blowing lager out of my nose when i thought of it .... and anyone can steal this one btw "THE BARE HAIR BUNCH" .. would be honoured if anybody actually used that..
when discussing band names a few years ago we all decided we needed something " that stood out " i suggested COLD NIPPLE but it didnt see the light of day daz
hahaha nic, only just come back to this blog... can u imagine double headers like NYE... "playing live Johnny Meerkat and the Itchy Chipmunk"!!!
Being a Genesis and Phil Collins tribute band we were fairly limited in what we could choose. We did actually kick the namd "Genesish" around but rejected that. "Band of Confusion" was my personal fav. I would have liked to have picked the name "The Garden Wall" but not many other Genesis anoraks would have got that. In the past one of my bands was called "The Curly Triangles"...... ;-) Best wishes John
