My advice is to enquire with agents rather than direct with venues. Twice the money and guaranteed work. I depped for a duo once and the guy got his gigs solely from agents, and he was gigging nearly every weekend to at least £200 a pop. What's worse is that he was absolutely shocking... to the extent where his guitarist mimed to the backing tracks because he hadn't learnt his parts comfortably enough. Easiest £200 I ever made!
So yeah, here's one to get you started > www.nigelround.co.uk

Cheers U2, weve been considering going down the agent route and have both done work for agents in the past. We need to get a more polished promo pack in situ, something were gonna start on this weekend. Wasn't really a "we can't get work" kinda rant, more of a "we're gonna do something on the cheap" moan at venues who tell you to get knotted when you are doin a regular night. Thanks for the link.
