Daz, has your 5150 got an FX loop? If so have you tried the XT through it?

Hehehe. I hear that. I use a combo as a head for the versatility.

Best thing you can do with the XT is bung the editing software on a laptop and get into a rehearsal room so you can tweak with patches at full chat. It's the most effective way of getting a decent sound for them. I used to run one (and then an x3live) through the fx loop of my boogie. There are some bloody great sounds to be had :o)

nice one Daz,line 6 is superb , ive just got a pod x3 live finally and of that and the xt live and hd300, its the best one ive had, brilliant, the marshall and boogie setting are ace and so is everything else! i take it to every gig now as a back up,i used an xt live for most of the metalleeka gigs and i preferred it to the jvm as it really nailed those carbon copy of roland JC and dual rec tones :0)

i think the flextone 3 has similar tones to the xt live and has some of the vetta models, they do it in 1x12 and 2x12

i had a flextone 3 combo for a bit was flippin great

i borrowed a flextone 2 and was very impressed for practice and good tones at low volume unlike the 5150 which tends to sound fizzy at low volumes and its obviously not designed to be played as such !!!!

might be an idea to look at low wattage amps by Blackstar...not too expensive and they sound great
