The Highlight of My Career

this Sat. ...tonight Matthew, I`m going to be....

John Travolta !! ..........I kid you not.

No gig this Saturday, as it is my wonderful nephew Sam`s 18th birthday party. Sam has Downs Syndrome and his favourite thing in the world is Grease. ( no accounting for taste ). The party is Grease themed fancy dress.

Anyway, the whole family and friends and kids from his special school have learned the dance moves for Greased Lightning, and I`m nominated to sing it to a backing track . Whilst wearing a dodgy wig.... and dancing. ( another thing I`m spectacularly not good at.)

I can honestly say I have not been so nervous in 30 years of playing. So looking foreward to seeing his face though.

I remember going to see Grease at the 'Pictures' back in the day...coming out after...all the lads were turning up the collars on their leather jackets...I remember in school someone asking me if the film was any good...having a reputation to uphold I barked ''It was SHIT!!!!''....Truth is it was really good and I still watch it now...I've even got a copy of the soundtrack on Vinyl, a double album gate-fold sleeve...

urrrgh, the truth serum has just worn off...thank fuck before I admitted to saying something really embarrassing...

Can't wait to see the Danny Zucco wig Chris !!!!
