The Power 3 Live at The Bottom Bull, Bolton - Review

Superb entertainment!

My third trip up to the Bottom Bull in as many months and again it was well worth the effort. Both Hydra and Night Train had put on great shows and the Power 3 continued that noble tradition.

The band have had a couple of rave reviews on here of late including one from Rick of the 45's who saw them at Barnstormers on Friday ( Rick - we were going to come to the Pineapple later but....)

The set is largely what I'd describe as 70's blues/rock ( think Gallagher/ ZZ Top etc) but also includes rock and soul classics such as Superstition, Hard To Handle, Radar Love, Black Betty, Whisky In The Jar. It was amazing to hear a three piece play 'Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City' and make it sound as though there were twice as many men on stage!

Both lead and bass players took vocal duties and yeah - that bass man got soul!
Favourite track of the night has to be their version of the Beatles 'Drive My Car' funked and blues'd up something rotten LOL! ( Possibly based on the Humble Pie version? - even so better than that even - why didn't I record it , damn!).

Definitely going to see these boys again ( Oh and Rick - hopefully see you soon too!)
