asked by a bass player ?1?

Is it possible to download drumtracks to songs from t'internet?

I dont have the aptitude or patience to set it up on a drum machine so can you download a list of songs and just play along with them or do you need to get a drummer to record them for you?

You can try this site:

http://www.karaoke-version.co.uk/

It costs you £1.99 per track, but once you've downloaded it you can change it as often as you like. You get the full mix of the track with keyboards, guitar parts and vocals so you can then edit it as and when you like. Take the bass out, lead vocal line out, etc etc. Some of the tracks are awesome, some not as good, but they're great for playing along/practising to.

There are a few drummers who offer online recorded drum tracks, but to be honest it can work out quite expensive for just the drum track.

For a jam, an idea might be to download some free REX files.

Plus I think the entire "In ThroughThe Outdoor" album is available with just drums.

Think there was a posting on this subject on BassChat a little while ago.
There is a website that has drum track that you can download.

Failing that there are shed loads of MiDi tracks available for free. Downlaod and then lose everything but drums.

The karaoke site mentioned above is actually stateside so it's $1.99 so a bit cheaper

@Kingpin Keith - Nah, it's not Keith. The prices actually come up with the sterling (£) prices. Unless there's a stateside version I don't know about. In which case it wont be .co.uk. Or is it on a .com website?

Sorry. Correction there Keith. You're right. If you substitute the .co.uk for .com or click on the American flag at the bottom of the home page, it takes you to the American site, where indeed the prices quoted are in dollars ($).

I put a related blog on a couple of weeks back cos i'm in a similar situation!

I'm now downloading midi files and converting them on my PC with EZ Drummer software to get a better sound.

Send me an email address and I'll send you Don't Believe a Word and you can see if the quality is good enough for what you want. If it is I'll send you the full details of what i'm doing conversion-wise etc
