....video to follow
Popped along to the Bottom Bull again last night after seeing that the band that were playing , 'After Dark' included a couple of old mates from Bolton bands of the 90's Legacy and The Lost Boys.
Whilst the Lost Boys repertoire was largely 70's glam with a smattering of new wave, Legacy were more classic rock (Floyd, Van Halen etc).
One look at the setlist and I knew we were in for an excellent evening's entertainment - shed loads of Bowie for a start!
Howard's voice was on form - he always did capture Bowie well - and versions of U2's 'With Or Without You' , Weller's 'You Do Something To Me' and Floyd's 'Comfortably Numb' were top notch.
Despite the fact that the place wasn't exactly packed the band put on a great show and the attention to detail musically was most impressive. Interesting in that the versions of both 'Heroes' and 'Rebel Rebel' were based on live Bowie versions which was refreshing and an unrehearsed 'Space Oddity' (called out for from a member of the audience) was effin brilliant considering!
This band has only been around a few months and done a handful of gigs but I can see them soon being a regular booking at a lot of venues!
Landlords - get these lads booked , you won't regret it!
Will post a video in a while - taking a long time to upload to Youtube!
