Videoing/Photographing your gigs - Christmas offer

Covers bands cheap.....Originals bands/charity events free

As I've mentioned previously I'm available a bit over December and January and have just finished my latest batch of media assignments.

So if anyone wants to hire me do please get in touch. For bookings taken this month (it only needs to be a booking, the gig may be later) the deal is this:-

Covers bands

The whole gig recorded (with multiple cameras, and a copy of the gig supplied on DVD for each band member (usually 2 discs as I record and burn in high definition).

In addition a 10 minute show reel clip will be compiled with some of the gig highlights for marketing purposes (see my previous blogs for examples of "mashups" created for other acts), or your website etc. I try to liaise with the band on this as much as possible to make sure you're happy with the clips selected and to invite your input as to the order you want them putting in etc before then editing in footage from multiple camera angles and applying various techniques (special effects, pans, zooms, fades etc) to add movement and interest to the finished product.

Photos of the gig - usually about 150 finished/edited shots of both individuals and the group shot live (I don't do posed photo shoots as all my ideas are a bit stupid - like standing in fields with guitars and shit) uploaded to photobucket for you to link to your media sites and also supplied on CD.
You can check my media page on facebook for some examples at www.facebook.com/sarcasticelasticmedia
Most of my video mashups are on this media page too.

All this for £50 which is probably about £1 an hour for the amount of editing etc that goes into it all. This includes the cost of DVDs and postage but if the gig you want is miles and miles away (ie out of the East Lancs/North Manchester area) then I ask for fuel costs in addition.

The booking needs to be made this month (you don't have to have a specific gig in mind at this stage as it pays to wait until you are playing at a venue that lends itself very well to recording (a stage or raised platform is best....together with understanding landlord and punters) to take advantage of this offer as I now know I'm offering a lot more for a lot less than others do so it won't last forever - however I'd like as many nwb bands to be able to take advantage of what others have had as I value this community.

Originals bands (ie not for pay)/Charity events or any other kind of event that's not for profit -

Same stuff but free, with the exception that I will ask you to cover expenses - you can supply the blank DVD's if you like, other than that it's fuel and a couple of soft drinks. If you're not gigging but want a rehearsal or similar recording then I can record a few songs that way if you want to get some material out there.

PM me if you're interested and originals bands are on their honour not to abuse the offer - I'm assuming most of you play for nothing (or next to nothing) and I respect your commitment to the road less travelled - just remember me if you get famous.....

The offer is open to absolutely everyone...even music genres I don't like....I love filming...I don't need to love the music (so long as metal bands aren't offended by the obvious presence of earplugs when I'm shooting right in front of your PA stack).

The latest show reel:-

well worth it guys,

an excellent marketing tool to promote yourselves to prospective venues.

most venues would only listen to one track at best on a demo cd, if they only watch three or four minutes of a mashup they will see six or seven tracks and get a feel of what you are like with an audience etc

Don't think twice about this offer guys, it's great value. Tubthumper's filming/editing skill is going from strength to strength and the mashup is becoming the promo of choice.

It has to be said that this is an impressive gesture. The mash up stuff I have seen is perfect for band promos.

Big hats off to you Tubthumper.

Thanks to Daz and Mick (and Roadhog in their blog) for the votes of confidence - it's nice to know my previous work is so appreciated.

To everyone that has PM'd me you should have received a reply from me. To anyone else who wants to jump on the bandwagon there's still time - just throw your hat in the ring now and we'll sort a date out for next year at some point in the near future. The date doesn't matter to me (so long as I'm free), I just need to know this month how many I'm looking at doing next year, whenever they may be, so i can sort the logistics and possibly even invest in some plain black backdrops to block out some of the chintz on pub walls.

Plus there'll come a point when the novelty of the enterprise wears off and you won't be able to get me out of bed for less than £100 (I still can't believe that bands have commonly being paying £200 for this kind of thing!).

I absolutely recommend this as a marketing strategy.
As you can see above, the quality is good and the footage is great .It looks dynamic and advertises the band in the best way.
£50 what a steal , can't believe Tubthumpers not snowed under with work.
You could pay £50 ten times over ,easy.
We payed £200 earlier in the year and the quality of that dvd doesn't even compare to the one above, plus the still photos are great shots aswell. You have to take loads of photos at gigs ,to catch maybe one or two great moments. You get 150 photos in this package.
DID I SAY THAT I WAS HAPPY WITH TUBTHUMPERS WORK?

A further endorsement from the Roadhog camp! This is an amazing bargain even it were just for the stills, but the three camera video showreel makes it an unmissable deal..... I suggest bands form an orderly queue before biting Tubthumpers hand off!......then she'll be able play drums like Rick Allen..! ;o)

I've seen most of the work Nic has done and it is all stunning.

For the amount of time she puts in editing, £50 is not even scratching the surface.

Get her booked before she gets realistic!

@ Puppet Show - will do - PM me with you're preferred dates as soon as you can - I have a growing list of bands who have replied and am going to try to do them in the order they replied wherever possible, depending of course on everyone's chosen dates and my own availability
