A reflection on 2011 & exciting news for 2012...
Just a quick thanks to those here that's supported us throughout 2011. We've had a great year, played some awesome gigs and look forward to doing it all again next year.
I speak for the 3 of us in saying two gigs that stood out for us this year were being invited to play MAG's Farmyard Party in Yorkshire to 4000 people and headlining NABD's Autumn National Rally in Oxford - experiences we'll never forget!
Whilst the above were definite highlights, it's the more intimate 'pub venue' gigs that I personally enjoy - it keeps our feet on the ground, and is where friends are made. So thank you to all the venues around the North West that have put up with us this year.
I've also enjoyed watching more bands this year (some on NWB some not), all equally entertaining & some great nights out. So thanks for the hangovers folks.
Going into 2012 we're looking forward to taking the Sugar Bullets to some new venues as well as returning to a few areas we've not played for some time.
2012 will be exciting for another reason too.....the birth of our NEW band 'BUG'. The 3 of have been working hard in the reharsal room writing our own material and will be going into the studio in January to record a couple of demo tracks. Although it's the same personel, we decided from the outset to keep the two bands seperate - mostly because we don't want to alienate Sugar Bullet fans with our own music when they've come to hear covers of old Punk classics. The Sugar Bullets are known purely as a cover/tribute band and that's the way we wish to keep it. However BUG will allow us to focus on more targeted gigs such as potential support to established Punk bands and hopefully in the future, slots at popular Punk festivals. We believe playing our own original material with BUG at these type of gigs have more credibility than what we could offer with the Sugar Bullets. Who knows...it might all go tits up but we'll have fun trying :)
So thanks once again for your support, advice and banter and we wish you all the best with you & your band for 2012.
Cheers
Dean
