You must have a busy life there ST ;-)

You shouldn't forget that a lot of band members (like me) are registered as "fans" as someone else uses the band ID.

It was quiet at lunchtime lol ;o)

I always knew the venues were in the minority, but the figures surprised me.

how many have stopped using the site full stop? (bands splitting; pubs shutting etc). Shouldn't they be deleted after certain length of time?

(Saying that - I don't think my "new venture" has logged on for a while! It will soon when it's ready!)

;0)

ha ha dunno guy, in my head it was roughly 40 venues logged on which is about 2000 gigs a year with 500 bands checking them out.

@Jez I agree I think maybe they should be deleted after a certain length of time. I know there are about 4 venue profiles for the Cherry Gardens on Wigan Lane and as far as I know none of them are for the guy who runs the place at the minute.

When you say interesting Asa do you mean dissapointing considering the number of actual registered accounts?

Apart from the dormant accounts I think the ratio between registered 'bands' vs contribution is low because throughout the year many sign up, post asking for gigs then feck off when there's no reply. Only a handful stay and become involved in regular banter, you see it happen every year.

Venue wise, as long as their diaries are filled up for the year they feel no need to post here (unless they get a cancellation). It would be nice from time to time to get an insight into the live music circuit / pub trade from those at the business end.

Every covers/tribute band and venue in the north west should be involved here simple as, it's still a very useful site that put/s many a band's foot through the door of venues...ours included.

You get out what you put in.

Newbie round these parts, so expect a few postings while I kill the odd hour of the day job...

I guess some register in the hope of getting something immediate, but life ain't like that. Just like a band needs to build up a following, you need to build up a presence on a website to really get something from it.

I've done this a few times on various other hobbies, so hopefully this will also be one of those sites and I'll end up actually meeting a few folks face to face in the future. And some may even like our music - but hey, slowly slowly catchy monkey :) Matt

There are so many dormant accounts that could re culled from here.
Venues that have been knocked down, bands that have folded.
There are even a couple marked 'delete' in the lists.

There could be a clear-out of every account that hasn't been logged into for (say) 2 years and we'd have a far more realistic representation of the membership on here.
