And a plea for help and donations... :)

Hi All

Just wanted to post an update on this event as I have finally gotten round to booking the venue.

We're going to hold it at The Railway in Bromley Cross www.railwayvenue.co.uk

And it's on Sunday 25th November

-----------------------------------------------------

All profits from the gig will go to Mind, the mental health charity. I've been in touch with them and they will be helping us out with promotional materials and permission to use their name and logo in conjunction with any advertising we do.

I've also messaged to Mr NWB about using the NWB name to help promote the event and in the process I hope, this site, and he was cool with that.
------------------------------------------------------

The next step is finding people willing and able to play the parts of the guests from the Last Waltz concert. We have the house band sorted and also Eric Clapton, Van Morrison and Neil Young...

We are still looking for our:

Paul Butterfield – harmonica, vocal
Bobby Charles – vocal
Neil Diamond – guitar, vocal
Dr. John – piano, guitar, congas, vocal
Bob Dylan – guitar, vocal
Emmylou Harris – guitar, vocal
Ronnie Hawkins – vocal
Bob Margolin – guitar on "Mannish Boy"
Joni Mitchell – guitar, vocal
Pinetop Perkins – piano on "Mannish Boy"
Dennis St. John – drums on "Dry Your Eyes"
John Simon – piano on "Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ral"
Cleotha Staples – harmony vocal on "The Weight"
Mavis Staples – vocal
Roebuck "Pops" Staples – guitar, vocal
Yvonne Staples – harmony vocal on "The Weight"
Ringo Starr – drums on "I Shall Be Released"
Muddy Waters – vocals
Ronnie Wood – guitar on "I Shall Be Released"

If you are interested in stepping into the shoes of any of these for the night then please get in touch :)

Also if you can help in any other way with the organisation or the on-night running of the event then that would be massively appreciated.

Finally, we are going to try and raise extra funds through online auctions prior to and on the evening of the event and also a raffle. If you have any items that you could donate then please, please let me know. They too will of course be massively appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

Stu

if ur doing 'official' raffle tickets ul need to apply for a lotteries license - worthwhile doing as once u know what prizes u have u can sell the tickets before the night.
on my last 2 charity events 1/3 of the monies have been raised from the raffles this way : -)
