time to get on the winter greens pre season

This is for anybody on here and the usual suspects!!!

Anybody fancy getting out and thrashing a little white ball about?

Provisionally playing the week starting the 20th, plenty of time to sort out days off work etc.

We can discuss which course to play depending on who fancies it and player ability. Don't worry if you consider yourself a "hacker" - it's about fun and socialising!

Cheers

My half term is the week starting Mon 20th so I'm well up for it.

Been meaning to mention that I'm also a member of Sale Excel GS who play all over the north west through spring & summer. Have a look at the venues and dates on our website and if you fancy coming along to any as a guest then drop me a line. There is no standard and they're a friendly bunch of grumpy old buggers. You'd be more than welcome.

If you can stand baby sitting me I'd love to have a go.

Can somebody lend me a racket or do I hire one?

:-)

@AYP - You've got to pot as many balls as you can! There's a course in Dave's shed we're playing, it only costs £40 a round.

@Jez - Hacker?! The cheek! I'll have you know I'm a hemi-demi-semi-pro! ;)

@Al - there's a driving range near you. I will quite happily bring my bats over one evening and show you how to strike a ball if you wish?

@Everyone else - pick a day and I will book some leave. Thursdays the only no go day for me (day job reporting day).

I'd love to come but work dictates that I can't....the bastard!

I class myself as a hobbyist player these days, maybe even a bedroom golfer...although the wife tends to get upset when I'm swinging my massive wood about.
Does any of this discount me from being able to play on certain courses?

@Al and Tony - the only reason I've said we'll chose the course based on who plays, is it's more fun if it's suited to everybody. No point picking a course with 150 yard carries over water if one player can't hit it that far.
I'm a hobbyist now, play 1/2 dozen times a year if I'm lucky.
As for clubs, sure we'll be able to sort out spares if needed (presuming damages will be paid for!!!).
Swinging wood around is probably not permitted on the ladies tees!.... then again....

Never played it but used the facilities across the road. Sounds good to me, well located too for everyone, being straight off the motorway.

I've played there a couple of times. Not that that's any advantage.....it was a few years ago.

I need to swing my bats on a driving range but if we get a date sorted, I can squeeze that in first.

It's a big wide friendly course. Decent drainage too, which is important in a Manchester winter (or summer come to that)......
