Help offered to new bands

Anyone need a hand?

I have years of experience playing in bands, and performing in a duo. I have recently had to give up my work and, more importantly, my musical career, as I've been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease which makes it impossible for me to carry on actually playing with a band. I can still play, but can't do a whole night.

But I miss it so much.

To keep involved I am offering my services to any group of people who want to start or improve a musical enterprise. I am not brilliant but I have a good knowledge of what makes a band work, from arranging the songs, choosing tunes, setting up your PA to essential stagecraft.

I play bass. double bass, acoustic guitar, sing and the fool, but I don't want (can't) to play with you.

Really, if you're finding it hard work to get your band to work, maybe I can help.

I have done some original work, but I mostly know about popular covers. I tend toward country, motown and pop rather than rock, and fun rather than dark. I can get bands to 'pub and club' level !

I don't want to be paid anything.

I live in Darwen

Contact me on 07578371898 if you want to chat.

Chris

Good Luck Chris. I think it is really sad hearing news like yours. I really hope someone takes you up on your offer as it would be an excellent way of "keeping your hand in"

All the best Chris, I remember in the early days when pub gigs were a pipe dream, I'd have loved a bit of assistance. I'm sure there'll be some takers for your offer and you'll both reap the benefits.

I looked at your username and read the title in the light of the last few days on here.

I was expecting a thinly veiled troll post. What an amazing surprise. Your offer is incredibly generous and made in the very best spirit.

Good luck to you, I hope you get inundated with great new bands to work with.

Good luck Chris. Having had a parent with Parkinsons I know a little of what the process you're going through is like. I hope it remains manageable for many years to come and that your offer is taken up.

Thank you for your generosity :o)
