a quick guide and info please

Been asked for a public liability insurance certifiacate and know that really its a good idea, one member has personal cover through MU membership but not sure how that applies to other band members etc.

Just wanted to know roughly how much it costs?
And a good broker for a fair deal?

cheers

Hi Pat,

You need to take PLI under the band name as individual PLI wont cover you as you're performing as a band, not an individual.

Follow this link - http://www.musiciansinsurance.co.uk/

Costs us £185.00 a year.

Most places, if not all, will accept PL in the name of one individual in the band. Was in a band where we had a claim against us, and it was fine through the one persons PL. I am with MusicGuard, as well as the gear insurance, but the Music Union is a good deal
