Any left?
Few people asking us to sort a gig in Bolton so looking at venue options - I know the Bolton scene isn't full of life at the mo but just wondering are there any pubs still putting on regular bands?
Hey Guys.Try The Morris Dancers on Sapling road.Ask for Maureen.Sid
there's the dog and partridge...which is a bit left of field in as much as its kinda indie oddball stuff..hahaha.....the alma which is metal and the M&S which is good but small and mainly mainstream rock n blues/country. Out of these only the M&S pay without charging door money. What you COULD do is try the Blue Boar,,,I've been there when they've had punk on a Sunday afternoon (proper hardcore stuff)...and as far as I know the manager is still a very punky guy with quite a few contacts on the scene...could possibly be worth your while actually popping in and negotiating something.
Cheers Dead Horses will try them.@AlecDidn't know if the Blue Boar was open. We played there a few times a few years back, was a decent gig at the time then they closed & I never heard owt about Bolton since. Will pop in see if we can sort sommat.Cheers.
Bottom Bull (Breightmet) Seven Stars (Harwood) Beaumont Arms (Ladybridge) All worth a punt Deano
Cheers G, I facebooked you earlier asking about Bottom Bull - just didn't know if we'd suit the venue as it seems its a younger crowd in there? Same with Seven Stars. Both a stone throw away from where I live so hopefully we can sort sommat.Cheers
Give Ray a ring at The Moses Gate, you'll defo be in with a shout a on Sunday for starters, then see how you go.
Pineapple and Brierfields both on Blackburn Rd and further up in Dunscar there's The Bleachworks - we played there the other week.
@ 45's What is the Bleachworks like? We are booked to play there and its a new place to us.Never played pineapples either it always looks shut when i have passed it.
@ Bright Shapes. It's posh, gets really packed and we had some fantastic comments from the crowd. Loading in is ok, getting out isn't, lol. Re Pineapple, they blank the windows out. Big Baz is a nice fella. Pop in and see him, Rick.
@ Sugar Bullets...may have been you I saw..Sunday afternoon? As far as I know its reopened with same owner/manager
@Alec - don't think we ever played a Sunday afternoon so prob wasn't us. Will contact them...maybe try sort something for later in year. Thanks for the info everyone.
