Ska/Reggae Hits Grey Mare From 9.30pm
We are playing this venue for the first time and bringing Ska/Reggae to the town, get yourselves down and listen to The Specials, The Beat, Selecter, Bob Marley and many more.
It's a great venue - small and not an obvious choice for a band venue (you set up in a corner next to the fireplace) but always a good crowd. Probably one of our favourite places to play.
when we played there we had to have the drums and bass in one room, guitarist in another, and me in the middle in front of the stairs!!
Er I think you might have the wrong venue Alec, I don't think I've ever seen any stairs.....but then I have been known to not pay any attention whatsoever!
No I've not...the stairs are between the front room and the back room behind a door! We did it when the landlord died (last year!)...we did his wake, so normal room was full and back room had a bit of a buffet in it as well....a bit of a difficult gig soundwise!
Well I never! There's always a table with folk sat on where you've described the stairs! Never noticed. I stand duly corrected. Yes that sounds like a very trying set up indeed! Still, my band once started a gig whilst I was still sat on the toilet....try that one out for sound....
Was it 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond?' ;-)
Rather less prosaic than that as I recall....
A nice 4 minute drummerless intro though!
thanks guys for the heads up on the venue.
