Rocket science? methinks not!

Ok…

When you post a blog, PLEASE post it CORRECTLY, I didn't think anything could be simpler?!

e.g. when you go to post a blog – the box that says SUMMARY is a 'summary' of what the blog contains, NOT the blog content itself..

Some nice simple instructions:

- Title - No Capitals
The Blog Title

- Summary - No Capitals
A 'summary' i.e. 1-10 words

- Post - No Capitals
The actual blog content!!

Thankyou and remember, if I have to edit anymore blogs because of this they may magically disappear! :-)

Lots of NWB Love
Mrs NWB!

P.S. Summary Definition - ''a brief statement that presents the main points in a concise form''

couldnt agree more mrs nwb it does my head in when people put the full blog in the summary field!

The Summary field is now capped at 100 characters max.

Anyone putting "." or a space in the main blog content, will have their blog deleted, and may have community blog facility revoked.

Thanks mr fix! :-)

The summary box is now limited to 100 characters (as mr nwb has kindly done) however.. that doesn't mean you have to use them all!

I'm probably being a dumbass here, but what is the significance of the speechmarks and hyphen in the blog content mate?

It means when people don't actually write anything for blog content, instead they just put a full stop or a space so they can post it. Good question though, it took me a couple of mins to figure it out :-)

@Bad Horsie,

Some people are putting a single FULL STOP in the blog content, as this is a required field.

i didn't like to ask this from day one ...... but where it says e.g. Title - No Capitals ..... Mrs NWB suggests "The Blog Title" which contains capital T, B and,er, T again. Am I missing something?? or can you just not use, say, Paris, Rome, Riga??? What about state capitals?? I might want to post about our gig in Frankfort Kentucky!!

OK OK I've just gone too flippant - but I'm serious - why does it say no capitals??

Some people are just soooo funny :P ... NOT! - Mrs NWB is on one today, so watch out!!

It says no capitals, as we have simply asked that people don't write in capitals, it doesn't look as good and sometimes can mess page views up etc. Shouldn't be a problem really, people just need to remember not to use them.. :-) P.S. Its bloody annoying!

For those who need a quick english lesson..

''We use them mainly for the first letter of sentences, names, days and months as well for some abbreviations. In addition, of course, we always write the first person pronoun as a capital I.''

I think grammar, diction and punctuation are assumed. It just an ALL CAPITALS post/blog becomes hard to read and leaves less room to HIGHLIGHT certain parts.

Oh and by no capitals, it means don't write the whole blog in capitals, not don't use them for first letters of sentences etc!

Hey Mr NWB, do you need some apostrophe replace code when rendering the tooltips for the Latest Comments lists? seems to cause a javascript error.

Hi, welcome to NWB

Its dead easy...

1. Go to your profile editor (click your username in top right of screen)
2. Click on 'Post New Blog'
3. Write out your blog, select which category ie, for sale
4. Click 'Post Blog'

(you can also add a picture by inserting the 'direct link' in the main blog text from a hosting site like photobucket)

Hope this helps

Cheers
Dean

Hey, Mr & Mrs NWB!

What does it take to purchase ad space on this board? I've sent you 2 emails and got no reply. It's great that you've let me plug my studio in my blogs, but I think it's only fair I compensate you for the advertising space (as long as its not too expensive! LOL).
