Gear swap idea

Don't we all have gear we're not using currently?

I moderate on an international forum for musicians who make music over the internet. We have a section called "Gear Swap" where we (mainly the Americans) put up gear that they aren't using currently for permanent or temporary swap so they can try other stuff out without having to buy it. It's worked pretty well so far because everyone trusts everyone else.

Would that kind of thing be appropriate here? I know I have stuff that I'm not using currently that I don't need to sell but would exchange on either basis for something else.

Mr NWB? Folks? Would this work on the site?

Just a thought.

Mick

seriously though not a bad idea with amp or effects borrows, obviously youd have to know and trust the borrower/lender and vice versa

The drumstix would be a bit of a giveaway though wouldn't they:-)

Good idea Mick. Change your name to Noel and let the multi coloured swap shop commence!

I've got a couple of Peavey TVX 4X10'S that I currently don't use and could do with a spare bass head if anybody's interested.

Good call this Mick.

We need Mr NWB to start this as a header feature - like the search and set list. It could be by member and instrument - I've got a few things I'm not using but don't particularly want to sell, and I trust all you drummers out there!

This will have to be a total trust thing. It works well as long as nobody abuses it. The guys in the US have been trading guitars, pedals, amp heads, basses etc for around 5 years now. It works well on trust.
