Chickenfoot. Spicy Wings or Turkey Leg. Waddawe all think?
In theory a great combination. Good to hear Satriani in a band context. There's nothing refreshing there though. :o(To be totally fair, however, Sammy Hagar never hit my ear right, so I can't be unbiased. Van Hagar never did it for me.
never was a KFC fan..burger king for me..am I totaly missing the point here?

sorry.. bottle of red on the go and i get peckish..(chickenfoot..peckish..gerrit?..groan!) I'll get me coat! :0S
lol.
I love it! It doesnt break any musical barriers but it its just great rock and roll. Satch sounds great with a band and Sammy Hagar sounds fantastic considering he turned 60 last year!!
Just listened to 3 tracks and none of them has hit me in the ear. I'll chekc the rest of the album, but I was hoping for something a lot more.....er....um....I dunno, I suppose I was looking for some of Satche's trickery and Hagar's vox to shred, but, they have gone down the bluesey rock road rather than the fastflamboyant rock sound I was hoping for. Maybe they do that on the other tracks...we shall see.
When you play an instrument, especially if youve recorded your own stuff...all new stuff you hear..is dissected into parts. Gone are the days in the 80s of grabbin the first bus home...anticipating the vinyl release, clutched under your arm, of the heros. I wonder how I'd feel if Id heard this..just as a new band. Not going to dwell on it though. All top musos in CF who can do what they want..whenever they want..have luvvly teeth...cos they can afford it...and most of all...have been ..and are top guys.....who've made us listen out...because of their sheer talent. I squeeze Tommy Shaw licks out of my learning..but Styx and stones......good comparison I hope.
played it throught the first time and thought naffola but then i took i out on a long drive the other day and listened again and it's OK.......nothing spectacular just ok though I do admit that track 3 'sexy little thing' is as catchy as hell.
ive yet to hear it, but always liked Hagar and like when Vai was with David Lee Roth/Whitesnake its always impressive to hear a guitar wizard in a full vocal band, my favourite Vai stuff is with DLR and snake
I love it and just bought the album. I just like it cos its a bit of the past today...if you get my drift, just like good musicians playing good music. But there again I always preferred Hagar over Lee Roth any day, DLR makes my skin crawl........
I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed with this album. I'm a huge JS fan (i think I've got everything but the awful red 'blues' album) and since 'Crystal Planet' he's really not done anything new, so I was really looking forwards to hearing something refreshing and in a new direction, especially considering the pedigree of the whole band. But really, come on, it's OK background music, but I wouldn't choose to put it on. The whole thing reminds me of 'Asia' in the 80's - should have been a supergroup, but no chemistry in the band. Mind you, with their bank balances, there's not much to spur them on to greater efforts...........
