Place was rockin' despite them having noise reductions in place - read on >
Another successful night for The Sugar Bullets in what has been a fantastic couple of months for us - wherever we have played the punters have been really nice and enjoyed our set and it's been particularly good playing to decent sized audiences recently despite the ever growing issue with declining pubs etc. Great that people still want to hear live music so thanks to everyone who's supported us.
Whilst setting up Danny the LL told us he'd had a complaint from an old geezer accross the road (yes accross the road believe it or not, you would have though the complaint would have come from the back of the pub if any). Anyway he said we'd have to tone it down so during our soundcheck he checked outside a few times and each time asked us to turn it down (tbh we are a very loud band) - which we wern't happy about but understand it's not Danny's fault, by the 3rd song it didn't sound any different to previous gigs there anyway hehe.
So just to let other bands know if you have gigs booked expect to be asked to turn down, I just hope it doesn't get to the stage where they get their license taken off them or they just stop having bands on which would be a great shame for such a good venue.
Volume certainly won't be an issue at our next gig - Hark 2 Towler, Thursday 9th July.
Bring on the pirates!!
