Its always your fault...

So.. my missus's 14 year old is learning guitar..he's a left hooker and he's got himself an Ibanez GRG170DXL. His guitar teacher tells him he needs a new set of strings. What do I need to ask for she says to me...errr..Im a bass player..like I would know !!..Get him a set of Ernie Ball 10's I say. So off she goes to the local music shop and purchases a set of said strings. "Will you put them on for him?"..sod off..Im a bass player i don't thread cotton..so he gets his mates brother to do it. Tonight he has a gig with school.."err ..Kev ..this doesn't look right"...too right it doesn't...the bridge is stood proud about a foot and the thing is tuned a semi-tone out !!!!..Course, It's my fault...if I'd have sorted it !!!...stuff it..It's off to my guitar tech at weekend and he can use the Stagg i bought him for his first guitar..If you want something doing.....

Yeah, it's like when the lads say to me "I think this one's in E" or "we're going to tune down a semi-tone for this one". Like I care, I'm a feckin' drummer!

it takes time to master the set up of the complex floating trem system (esp if a different gauge of strings are fitted as the tension changes the spring loads in the back and pulls the bridgeup/down and tuning becomes impossible .....etc .....too early still !!! ;-)

@ alyerpal- "Yeah, it's like when the lads say to me "I think this one's in E" or "we're going to tune down a semi-tone for this one". Like I care, I'm a feckin' drummer!"
too damn right- my answer was always "how much harder do you want me to hit it??" :-)
