Over 1600 Gigs in the Gig Guide

Is NWB the most comprehensive NW gig guide in the web?

Just been looking at the NWB gig guide and was astonished to see that we're listing over 1,600 gigs for the NW region. I thought that was pretty impressive. I wonder where else you could get such a detailed gigs listing for the NW.

Is there anything else you would like to see part of the gig guide? - I've toyed with listing some of the bigger venues, e.g, MEN, Apollo, Academy. Maybe as a separate listings guide, just so it dosent take over the pub circuit gigs.

My intention with NWB was to list "bands playing in my local pub", and not to clutter too much with the bigger circuit venues, as their listings are well documented elsewhere.

I reackon some NWB'ers would appreciate a gig list of major Artist's/Venues but I think your correct in keeping them seperate from the local venue guide?

Imagine if all NWB'ers voluntarily coughed up that quid for each gig they listed?
There'd be plenty of dosh in the pot for updating the site to the level of the old site?
[Lets face nobodys gonna miss £1 are they?]
Dont think we necessarily need the music players back as they caused more friction than they were worth? [an everyone's got a myspace with there music on so a link would do on yer profile?]
But could do with a Profile page witch could be personalised with pics and stuff! [The old site was great for that!]
Having your gig list on your profile page is a bonus too!

COME ON GUYS!
COUGH UP! [£1600.00 waiting to be collected]

That reminds me - I need to knock up a "hall of fame" for the £1 gig donators - I've had quite a few quids roll in over the past few days.

Oh eck!
Your gonna embarrass us doing that?
It wont be a "Hall of Fame"
It'll be a "Wall of Shame"

Agree with Dye regarding the "wider" gig list.
Also much kudos to Paul (and all the site's contributors) for such an exhaustive gig list. I use it a lot to see who's playing where.

Sometimes i'm on it meself even!! lol

I meet people at almost every gig who refer to the NWB gig guide to help them decide where they are going that night but dont have an account on here?
It's becoming a MONSTER!

ha, thats very true for me also. When I've been mr.incognito at gigs, its great over hearing people talk about NWB. It's certainly paved its way into as the local "whats on" guide.

Yeh, I'd sooner it kept to the "local bands" for "local venues" format.. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"..Look after one another and all that. If they're members of NWB, then fair enough, as long as there's plenty of "musical mingling" goin' on! ha ha ...
.
Paul! Can you p.m your address to me, because I've finally managed to get my dv lead working, and have the footage from the NWB Showcase night on to dvd! I'll send you a copy, no problem!
Cheers
Andy

We've just had to empty the band fund to get the van MOTd and need to get some cash to Kyle for a new logo. Next on the list after that: NWB contribution.

What about just having a "Gig listings Raised so far" tag?
Without naming names?
May generate interest and encourage participation in donations without embarrassing those who dont have the facility to partake?
Just a thought?
