Spinal Tap was the first DVD I ever bought.

Nigel StHubbins' wife looked just like the wife of a guy I used to be in a band with a VERY long time ago.. She worked in exactly the same way as that woman and by coincidence, the rest of us knew her as YOKO, too. Never give the wives a vote if they aren't in the band. She used to turn the rest of the band down on the mixing desk. It brings me out in a rash watching her!!!

It's all going in the book!!!

"You can't dust for vomit"

"How more black could it be? the answer is none, none more black"

"This is the Gibson Les Paul custom 3 pick up, listen to the sustain on that?" " I can't hear anything" " no but you would if it was plugged in. You could go for a bite and that one would still be singing"

i think Ian Faith is really funny, goodness knows which band managers hes based on but the casting of that guy is spot on

"in the topsy turvy world of heavy rock having a solid piece of wood comes in handy"

My fave bit:

"I don't think the problem was that the band was down... I think the problem may have been that there was a Stone'enge monument on the stage that was in danger of being crushed... by a dwarf. That tended to understate the hugeness of the object"

"well maybe we just fix the choreography... keep the dwarves clear..."

"what d'you mean?"

"so they won't trod upon it..."

"I don't think that's the issue..."

--------------------------------

Oh, and then there's:

"if i've told them once, i've told them a thousand times, put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last... we've got a big dressing room"

"oh, we've got a bigger dressing room than the puppets?"

and then... "on the bass... Derek Smalls... he wrote this"

(which sounds less like an introduction, and more like blame)

oh, and Nigel picking up a violin during his big guitar solo (a la Jimmy Page), scraping it across the strings then stopping to tune it

oh, and Derek getting stuck in the pod...

"there's a fine line between clever and... "

"..and stupid"

"wanker... they were still booing him when we came on"

"i tell you what the problem is this twisted old fruit here"

"could you play a slow number so i can dance" then cuts to them playing Sex Farm :-)

"were not gonna play a freeform jazz odyssey in front of a festival crowd" then cuts to them playing a freeform jazz odyssey in front of a festival crowd...........

Derek Smalls is comedy gold.

has anybody seen the film - 'anvil'?....
the first half is pure spinal....the 'tour' round europe...
some of it even made me think...i've been there!
after that it gets a bit sentimental...but still a good watch!
